This is a conference exploring how Christians have developed statements of belief across the history of the Christian Church. On the occasion of the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed, let us reflect on how Christians have developed statements of faith, including within Seventh-day Adventism. In the context of antebellum America, Adventists imbibed the broader anti-creedal milieu that warned against the dangers of rigid creedalism. This did not mean that Adventists didn't eventually adopt statements of faith, and this conference explores these themes in the Adventist context.
